Picking a mobile game by your mood, not the charts
The store charts will tell you what's popular, not what fits your evening. I've started thinking about mobile games by mood instead, and it's made my library a lot more satisfying to browse.
When my brain is fried, I want casual or cozy — a fishing game, a farming sim, something with no fail state. When I've got energy and time, an RPG like Emberfall Saga gives me somewhere to sink in. And when I want a jolt, arcade racing does the trick in short bursts.
Strategy is its own thing. I reach for it when I want to think slowly, usually on a long train ride where a turn-based game can breathe. Adventure games sit in the middle — great for a focused hour when I want a story but not a grind.
The point is that no single game fits every mood, and that's fine. Building a small library across a few genres means you always have the right thing for the moment. It beats scrolling the charts hoping something clicks.
